Blake Lawhorn
Intern

Blake is a Student Counselor at Southeastern University obtaining his Master’s in Marriage and Family Counseling. He previously graduated from Southeastern University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology. In addition to his education, Blake has experience providing mentor-ship to abused, abandoned, and neglected young men while working at a group home in Auburndale. Furthermore, he has insight into military life as he is a previous soldier in the Florida Army National Guard.

Blake is focused on helping individuals, couples, families, and adolescents navigate the hardships of life. He understands that life is messy and complicated, and he wants to help work through these complications in order to have an emotionally and spiritually fulfilled life. Blake is passionate about helping couples and families with communication issues, difficulties in getting along, and revamping relationships.  Along with families, he has a passion for helping adolescents trudge through the difficult milestones of becoming an adult. He understands that being an adolescent today is scary and hard and wishes to be an empathetic presence in their lives. Blake’s love for helping couples and families succeed, experience working with adolescents and young adults in all walks of life, and dedication to Jesus Christ give him the strength to help clients thrive.

Blake is born and raised in the sunshine state, where he spends his time playing various board games and video games with family and friends, enjoys fishing, and finding new recipes online. He continues to work as a supervisor at a local group home where he often works 16-hour shifts working with youth through school, peer, and emotional difficulties while often taking young residents to various church events/ services.
