Hannah Durbin
Graduate Intern
I am a Graduate Student Counselor currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University and provide counseling under supervision as I complete my clinical training. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Practical Ministry with a minor in Theology from Southeastern University, and I am certified in SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts) for pre-marital counseling. Prior to entering the counseling field, I spent several years working full-time in student ministry, where I walked alongside individuals and families through seasons of growth, grief, transition, and transformation. Those experiences deepened my belief in the power of compassionate relationships, emotional honesty, and hope in the midst of pain.
I became a counselor because I believe that healing is possible and that transformation often begins in spaces where people feel truly seen and understood. My heart is to help individuals move from surviving to thriving by creating a therapeutic environment rooted in trust, safety, and genuine connection. I value authenticity and view counseling as a collaborative journey—one where your voice, your story, and your goals matter. I consider it a privilege to be invited into the lives of my clients, and I approach every person with empathy, respect, and unwavering belief in their capacity for growth.
I work with teens (12+) and adults who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about the next chapter of their lives. Many of the clients I work with navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem and identity struggles, life transitions, boundaries, and relational conflict. I also support individuals experiencing church hurt and religious trauma—helping them process their experiences, reclaim their voice, and find spiritual and emotional clarity. In addition, I have a passion for supporting women as they explore identity, purpose, emotional resilience, and holistic wellness.
My approach to therapy is warm, relational, and goal-focused. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, along with person-centered techniques that cultivate emotional awareness and personal empowerment. For clients who desire it, I offer Christian faith integration in a gentle, client-led way. Whether faith is central to your life, complicated, uncertain, or something you’re rediscovering, I honor your journey and meet you where you are.
Born and raised in Tampa, I’m grateful to call this community home. Outside of counseling, I love exploring local coffee shops and restaurants, spending time in nature, and enjoying life with people I love. It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you pursue healing, clarity, and growth.
