Josie Mojica

Graduate level intern

Josie is a graduate level intern. She is currently completing her Master’s of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University and earned her Bachelor's degree in Human Ecology at Tennessee Technological University.

Josie is passionate about being available and present with others as they experience life’s challenges. She considers each person as more than his or her symptoms and views mental health through a holistic approach that addresses emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual needs. She often uses different therapeutic models to help address these needs such as a strengths based approach, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and a person centered focus. She serves individuals of diverse cultures and various socioeconomic levels. She sees adolescents and adults with a variety of needs such as grief, anxiety, adjustment issues, self-esteem, relational issues, depression, and spiritual matters.

Josie strives to create a space that is welcoming for all backgrounds. Her goal is that each client feels accepted and safe in the therapeutic relationship.

She grew up in Tennessee and is excited to be in the Tampa area. In her free time she enjoys going on walks with her dog and traveling to visit family and friends. Her favorite part about being a therapist is seeing the many ways Christ presents himself in the least likely places.

Josie is currently practicing under the supervision of Chris Thayer, LMHC.
